St Paul's
Beaconsfield

Anglican Church near Fremantle, Western Australia

Our parish is a community that seeks God and the fullness of creation by finding ourselves in relation to others. Our giving to the common, to the other, our sharing of ourselves is our commitment to this endeavour.

Almighty God, consoler of the afflicted
You bring light to the mystery of suffering and death and reveal your Divine life in the face of Christ:
and in the trials of our daily pilgrimage, we are forever one with Christ in the passion of the cross and the power of the resurrection;
We seek life with Christ, who abides with us and in union with the Divine trinity of Love.
Amen. Adapted from APBA

God of passionate life,
who sends the sparks,
who lights the inner blaze and tends the flame,
fill us with your radiance. Enkindle us with your love.
May the truth we seek and accept shine through all we are and do.
God of passionate life, stir up the embers of our joy.

Come, Holy Spirit, come, as speech which is heard and understood;
as peace which does not mask the truth;
as wonder which is not made small to match the littleness of our vision, but forged anew to strike a living spark in young and old;
as love which will not hide.
Julie Hulme In Seeing Christ in Others

Collect

God of Love, maker of all things new
We are anointed in Love and alive in Christ For the divine seed of life is birthed in our hearts…
In Christ, the fullness of life is revealed
And so we seek to become a new creation our emptiness filled with the sacrament of Divine fullness....
And a realisation that together we are The Body of Christ..... Amen

Pray that we may continue our journey in faith and in truth – confident in the Life that is birthed in the giving of ourselves…... Give thanks for each other, for all that we have to share and for opportunities to stand in one place.

Pray for this community (past, present and future) and the communities of which we are a part. Pray for our young members - and give thanks for all who give them a sense of community and the confidence to look forward with faith and hope. Give thanks for the work and example of our “Elders”, those from whom we inherit much.

Pray for families in crisis, that God’s love will arise and give life - And for refugees who experience the struggle and desire for new life. Pray for all whose peace is disturbed by the noise of war. For those finding life a struggle and hope diminishing, that we may hear their cry Give thanks for all that you are and all that you have and for opportunities to give to others. Give thanks for the Divine fullness that we glimpse as we share together in worship

May the God who dances in creation,   who embraces us with human love,   who shakes our lives like thunder,   Bless us and drive us out with power   to fill the world with justice.   And the blessing of God,   the eternal goodwill of God,   the shalom of God,   the wildness and warmth of God   be among us and between us now and always, Amen

A Sesquicentenary Prayer

Lord of all generations
Bless our celebration of 150 years of ministry with the Diocese of Perth.
We give thanks for those whose dedication and vision enabled the foundation and development of this diocese.
Guide those of us now entrusted with this responsibility.
Encourage us and give us the commitment, enthusiasm and inspiration we need.
May we have breadth of vision and generosity that will enable us to provide a solid foundation of faith for future generations.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Daily Prayer from Perth Anglican Diocese See left hand column

Prayer in the tradition of St Paul

Creator of Life, of light and all Love, we pray thee
to fill this house with thy Spirit.
Here may the strong renew their strength and seek
for their working lives a noble consecration.
Here may the poor find succour and the friendless
friendship.
Here may the tempted find power, the sorrowing
comfort and the bereaved find the truth that death
hath no dominion over their beloved.
Here let the fearing find a new courage and the
doubting have their faith and hope confirmed.
Here may the careless be awakened and all that are
oppressed be freed.
Hither may many be drawn by thy love and go
hence, their doubts resolved and faith renewed,
their sins forgiven and their hearts aflame with thy
love.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Creed

We believe that in the Child of Bethlehem
all love and grace
is gathered for the world.
Here God entered our life
in a way which honoured forever
our struggle to survive
our possibilities for newness
and our ordinary human journey
Here we see our God
in a surprising way
a God who travels with us
a God who loves us to the death
and a God who comes among us
as a small and vulnerable child
This God we Praise
This God we welcome into our life
This God we celebrate today.
